Guide by Cell was founded four years ago by Dave Asheim, after running several technology companies in Silicon
Valley. He formed the company in order to combine two passions: technology and museums/cultural attractions.
Many of the same teammates with whom Dave worked in the past joined Guide by Cell to help pursue this vision.
Not all members of the team desired to have their photo made public to the world, but those that are not shy are
featured below.
 |
Anne
Many of the beautiful marketing pieces used by our 275 clients were created by Anne. Marketing is as
important as the content in the success of a cell phone tour.
|
 |
Dave
Dave will go to any height to pursue another interested client. Dave spent the past 12 years as CEO of
several telco companies serving millions of callers each month. He is the world's expert on cell
phone/podcasting/text messaging guides and speaks at over ten conferences each year on the future of mobile
technology in cultural institutions.
|
 |
Grant
Always on his cell phone, Grant explains the popularity of Guide by Cell to another interested museum. His
background in both art and archaeology are appreciated by clients.
|
 |
Jim
Jim's software skills are only surpassed by his ablity to imitate Donald Duck and other Disney characters for an audio tour.
|
 |
Jun
When not creating world-class technology applications (as he has for the past five years), Jun might be
found gaining inspiration on hiking trails.
|
 |
Kat
Even on her wedding day, Kat continues her training of another satisfied Guide by Cell client.
|
|
Kent
For 25 years Kent built some of the most powerful telephone based applications in the country. After we
began referring to him as "doctor of technology" we think he took his new title a bit too seriously.
|
 |
Lee
One might think after starting two successful phone based companies in the last 11 years, Lee would prefer
an office with a desk. Instead he enjoys sitting in front of one of our many server cages at our earthquake
proof super secure network operating center, watching the lights flicker as millions of visitors call into a
tour.
|
 |
Max
Max (fourth row, second from left) enjoys creating new enhancements to entice clients and their visitors.
He has 15 years experience with building large scale computer hardware operations.

New Client Set-Up Team
Too numerous to mention, we are nonetheless proud of the team that is handling all the new client orders for
cell phone audio tours. The group has grown from just a few people 18 months ago to what you see here today.

Sal
Sal is of the old school when it comes to dressing up for work. But after running many Wall Street
companies, old habits are hard to change. His deep management experience in customer service, sales and
marketing are invaluable resources.

Sandy
Having her 747 pilot's license gives Sandy so much flexibility to visit any client anywhere in the world at
a moment's notice.
